So work/school/life has been eating me alive lately and I'd love to give a substantial update. Unfortunately, I are teh braindedz. So, a mini-survey-thing yoinked from Penn.

So I'm in Riverside at the moment, popping Vicodin and playing with cats. Yesterday, I had my gallbladder removed! Yeeeah, fun times. I don't think I wrote about any of that stuff in here, so we'll start at the beginning.
( storytime! )
So now I'm home with four holes in my stomach, looking like I got a really shitty spray tan that only covers part of my abdomen. I'm being mothered and my brother's actually been really, really nice. I'm not sleeping too well because most of the holes are on the right side of my stomach and I can really only sleep on the right side of my stomach D: And laying down is all kinds of not fun, because it takes like 5 minutes to get back up, hahaha.
I've got some 3 weeks off from work. Most people can go back to work in a week, but most people have office jobs. I push carts and carry cases of water. That's asking for bad things.
Speaking of work, I got my 1 year pin and the pay for the vacation I never took. I can't believe I've been there a whole year already. It's nice.
Amber and Sean should be over soon. I haven't seen them in ages - I still have Amber's Christmas present. Oh man.
Also, school is going quite well as of late. I'm happy.
I thiiink that's about it with life right now.

So I finally re-opened my website. It was just sitting in dust for aaages, so I finished up the layout I had started and put everything back together last night. You should obviously go check it out. Now.
The boy and I went to Disneyland for a little while yesterday. It was so empty. Middle of the week+off season+potention rain=no lines. It was awesome.
Finally got all my grades back a litte bit ago. Did quite well, actually. I have a happy-ish GPA again, thank god. It was pathetic before. Like, you guys wouldn't believe me if I told you how bad it was because it's just not like me to do so poorly in school. Yeah.
Albertson's is going through layoffs at the moment and I'm nervous. I've been there about 9 months now, but that's really not all that long in the scheme of things. Two of the cashiers at my store were laid off and a third took a paycut and transferred into bakery. God, I need this job.
So my brother got arrested for speed (yay felony!) and ended up with 3 years probation. He's so lucky. But I will kill him if he fucks up again. Jesus. He's gonna give my parents strokes.

I hope everyone had a lovely New Year's Eve.
What's everyone's resolution(s)? I'm nosy.
I haven't really decided on mine yet. I think the biggest is just keeping my apartment clean. And keeping my grades happy (the 2 classes I've gotten my grades for thus far are quite happy indeed!). And cooking real dinner more, instead of nuking whatever is in the freezer.
And maybe hitting up the Rec Center more. That place is awesome. I should spend more time there.
But yeah. You guys? Any resolutions?

It's Almost Christmas!
And you all know what that means, right? Yep, Christmas cards! If you want one (and I know you do), leave me a comment with your address (all comments are screened) and I will definitely be sending one your way.
So yeah. Cards. Comments. Go!

Why do I try to avoid exercise so much? I totally love it when I do it. Like, I'm sweaty and my legs are tired, but the rest of me feels so damn good right now. It is fab. Plus, stretching after cardio is the easiest thing ever. I don't even have to try, I just throw myself into the splits. Love. It.
I have an overwhelming urge to scrapbook the election. I've never scrapbooked before. I'd probably do a terrible job. But dammit, I want to try.
Also, yesterday was the day from hell at work. Oh my god. Understaffed on a busier-than-usual Sunday. I had an 8 hour shift. By the end of the day, I could barely move. Oi.

So the boy called a little bit ago and he and I were gonna go to The Hat for some sammiches. I get down to my car and, unfortunately walk in to something. I think, "No big deal, I'll crawl from the passenger side." Alas, this is a no-go as well, as I look up and am greeted by someone I shall call Boris.

And to apologize for the discomfort Boris may have caused some of you, I come bearing more kitty pictures! They's gettin so big. Spot especially, that boy is a beast.

I did possibly the hardest job I've ever done today.
I stood at the door and tried to get people to donate $2 to pediatric cancer research. If you donated you could either get chips/cookie/soda or a root beer float.
Standing there, getting shot down time and time again by people who don't want to help children with cancer is one of the most emotionally draining things I have ever done in my life. It got harder after I talked to man who said he donates to Kids 4 Hope on a regular basis because two of his relatives have childen with cancer - one kid is only 18 months old. How someone could say no to parting with 2 dollars that may save lives is beyond me.
But honestly, most people weren't listening to the words coming out of my mouth anyways. I'd greet people with a bright "Hello!" or "Good morning!" and some people didn't even look at me. Some people would only let me get halfway through my spiel before saying no thanks - or just shaking their heads or giving a hand gesture to imply that I was not getting money from them. One woman said no after my spiel and, as she walked away, I heard her daughter bitch at her. The woman came running back, asked me what I was collecting for again, and then went "Oh! Well, I don't want anything, but here!" and gave me like five bucks. I wonder how many people just blocked me out and said no when they totally would have donated otherwise.
I did still manage to get about 50 bucks for research today, which is apparently better than others have been doing. Doesn't make me any happier. The proper response to a question that is basically a less emotionally-charged version of "Can you spare some change for children with cancer?" is not "No." It's just not. If you're carrying a Coach purse and wearing Michael Kors shoes with D&G sunglasses, I'm sure you can spare a buck.
And to everyone who did donate, you guys are awesome. Most of you wouldn't even take a bottle of water in thanks, and I'm proud of you guys. Thanks for making this day not suck so bad.

Oh man. So, life.
I started school about a month ago. I'm so glad I took last semester off because I'm really liking school so far this semester. Honestly, I think I was just burned out and beyond the point of caring before. But, yeah. I'm taking World History From 1400, Reasoning and Problem Solving (Psych 110), Oral Communication of Theatre, and American Folk Music. It's good times, really.
Had to drive out to San Bernadino on the 16th of this month to pay a visit to the Driver Safety Office of the DMV. 98% of this excursion pissed me off. ( Cut because it got loooong. )
What else? Oh! So it came to my attention last week that I have lost 15 pounds since I started working at Albertsons. Haven't done any exercising outside of pushing carts, and haven't improved my diet whatsoever. Lost 15 pounds. I am kind of stupidly happy. And, honestly, it's that push I needed to get back on track. I've been trying to eat better and I've been trying to squeeze strength training back into my week. So we'll see how that works out.
As I type, there is a good chance my parents are at a Foo Fighters concert in Vegas. I don't know if it's still happening, but that is where they were earlier tonight. It's their anniversary gift to themselves, haha. My parents are badass, obvs.
And if you read all that, you get two more pictures of the Itty Bitty Kitty Committee that I took a couple weeks ago when I was home last time.
( kittiness )
And with that, I think I'm going to go to sleeeeeep.

I was totally going to post today. Like, a real entry about life. With more kitty pictures. Unfortunately, working all day and then coming home to read my Psych book...leaves me with very little energy. So. I'm going to brush my teeth and pass out. First, I finally saw The Dark Knight. And yes, it was stellar. But you knew that, because I'm the last person in the country to have seen the damn movie.
Second, I bought the new Jason Mraz CD. It's pretty darn good.
Third, kitten pictures.
( 6 pictures of itty bitty goodness )
I was trying to get pictures of them together, but they just don't. hold. still. They are hellions in every sense of the word but dear Lord they are cute hellions. If you sit down in the chair, they crawl allll over you. And then they try to fight each other from opposite shoulders, which isn't so awesome.
They're kinda in the teething stage, too. Spot's worse though, he chewed me constantly. Bea chews a little but she mostly just flails and purrs and yeah. I loves them and if I thought my Tonks could handle a friend, I'd try to convince my parents to give me one. But I think Tonks would haaaate it. So no.
I don't really want to go to work, haha. I am feeling extra lazy right now.

I pseudo-changed my layout. It's still the same setup, but different colors and a different image. Cuz I'm lazy but I needed a change.
So I finally got a carwash today. Fiiiinally. I haven't gotten the poor thing washed in months and it was so filthy.
Hey Albertsons! Hey, yeah, uhm. Could you possibly schedule me for more than 15 hours a week? Please? Because I kinda start school soon and I won't be able to work as much then and I definitely have rent/bills/etc to pay for. So this 15 hours a week shit is no bueno.
Elise, my old roomie from the dorms, has been living on my couch for a couple weeks now. She's working at school (which is right across the street) but she isn't in the dorms for summer and commuting from San Diego would just be a ridiculous waste of time and gas. So, my couch! It's kinda nice having a roomie again, even if it is just til the 21st.
Dad's coworker/friend Barb found a wild mama cat and her brand spanking new kittens under the Bargain Spot trailer a little bit ago. Rather than have mama cat raise them wild, resulting in even more kittens all over the place, Barb gathered them all up and has been hand-raising them. There's 5 boys and 1 girl and they're only about 5-6 weeks old now. My parents took two of them today, which I guess has not been going over with Josephine, our Siamese. She apparently just keeps shaking and looking at the kittens like, "What the fuck are these mewling beasts and why are they in my hoooouse?!" But yeah. I'm going home this weekend so I will come back bearing pictures of the itty bitty kitty committee. :3
I made my first real cheesecake last week! I was proud. I've never made a real one, just one of those lame no-bake things.
Boy and I went to a John Mayer concert last weekend. They had all these booths set up, like the always do at Irvine Meadows. One was for A Touch of Romance/Condom Revolution - two, ahem, adult stores that we have visited. They had a wheel you could spin for a dollar to win prizes. I had 2 extra bucks, so we spun. I won some random lube samples but the boy? The boy totally won a purple vibrator. Every person within 15 feet of the booth dies laughing and someone asks, "Now is that for you or for her?" The boy turned all kinds of red and practically threw the thing at me. So now I have this purple plastic vibrator that kind of reminds me of those toys you buy in bulk out of the Oriental Trading catalogue. It's just chilling in my drawer. I plan on putting batteries in it and freaking my stupid cat out.
And yeah. Uhm, I guess that's life lately?

My boy's birthday was Wednesday and I made him a cake that looked like a California roll. I wish I'd had time to take a picture before his party because it was the most time-consuming decorating I've ever done. But it tasted reeeeeally good :-)
Speaking of birthdays, mine is next Tuesday. I will officially no longer be a teenager. Oh man.

Uhm. So, I work at Albertson's now. I started out pushing carts and bagging groceries, but I just got moved into the bakery last week. It's lots of fun, but it's also craaazy hard work.
I also moved a couple weeks ago into an apartment closer to CSUF. It's just me and the cat.

How's everyone else? I haven't talked to most of you in foreva!

I got one today. Guess what they were reccommending?

The scary thing is, I've always wanted to read Mein Kampf but I'm usually too nervous to buy it. I don't want the cashier at the bookstore to be like "Holy shit, check out this neo-Nazi bitch!"
